Born to Grow Red Korean Botanical Scalp Shampoo

Born to Grow Red Korean Botanical Scalp Shampoo

The red comes from gardenia fruit. Nothing was added to make it that color, and nothing washes out onto your hands or your towel. In old Korean, dahn means red, and it is also the color of remedy.

A dense lather, without sulfates

No SLS, no SLES. The foam builds slowly at first, then turns thick and creamy, and rinses out without that squeaking, stripped feeling. At pH 5.06 it stays close to the scalp's own, and it holds up in hard water.

Made for the scalp first

This is a cleanse that starts at the part line, not at the ends. A small amount of salicylic acid helps loosen the buildup that collects through the week, and menthol finishes cool. Roots feel clean, hair stays light, and nothing sits on top of it.

The scent is cedarwood. Quiet, dry, more like a morning walk than a perfume counter.

DAHN-7

Inside is DAHN-7, seven herbs from Korean herbal medicine, at the heart of every QFORET formula. Goji berry, Korean angelica, poria and four more. The same seven in the clear treatment. This one tends the ground. The treatment feeds it.

How to use

  1. Wet hair thoroughly.
  2. Work the shampoo into the scalp, not the lengths. The lather will carry down on its own.
  3. Massage for thirty seconds, then rinse.
  4. Follow with Born to Grow Treatment.

16.9 fl oz / 500 ml. Sulfate free, color safe. Developed and made in Korea.

Is the red a dye?

No. It comes from gardenia fruit, which has been used as a natural colorant in Korea for a very long time. There is no added artificial color in the formula. It does not stain hands, towels, or color-treated hair, and the red rinses out clear.

Will it lather without sulfates?

Yes, though it behaves differently. Sulfate lather is instant and airy. This one takes a few seconds to build, then comes out dense and creamy. If the first wash feels slow, that is the formula working rather than a shortage of product. On very oily days, or if you use dry shampoo, a second short wash gets there faster than using more.
